Giving Societies

The following societies were created as a symbol of appreciation and way to acknowledge the significant financial contributions made in support of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academy of Medicine. The philanthropic support provided by our members and friends ensure we are able to achieve our mission—to improve health for all by advancing science, accelerating health equity, and providing independent, authoritative, and trusted advice nationally and globally.

Lifetime Giving Societies

The Abraham Lincoln Society acknowledges members and friends whose lifetime giving is $1M or more. In honor of their contributions, Society members are:

  • Presented a framed medal inscribed with Abraham Lincoln’s picture and lapel pin;
  • Invited and recognized at annual Academy events;
  • Recognized on donor recognition plaques at the historic NAS Building and Keck Center in Washington, DC, and Beckman Center in Irvine, CA;
  • Listed in Academy publications; and
  • Invited to exclusive events happening at the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies.

The Benjamin Franklin Society acknowledges members and friends whose lifetime giving is $500,000 to $999,999. In honor of their contributions, Society members are:

  • Presented a framed medal inscribed with Benjamin Franklin’s picture;
  • Invited and recognized at annual Academy events;
  • Recognized on donor recognition plaques at the historic NAS Building and Keck Center in Washington, DC, and Beckman Center in Irvine, CA;
  • Listed in Academy publications; and
  • Invited to exclusive events happening at the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies.

The Marie Curie Society acknowledges members and friends whose lifetime giving is $250,000 to $499,999. In honor of their contributions, Society members are:

  • Presented a framed medal inscribed with Marie Curie’s picture;
  • Invited and recognized at annual Academy events;
  • Recognized on donor recognition plaques at the historic NAS Building and Keck Center in Washington, DC, and Beckman Center in Irvine, CA; and
  • Listed in Academy publications.

The Albert Einstein Society acknowledges members and friends whose cumulative lifetime giving is $100,000 to $249,999. In honor of their contributions, Society members are:

  • Presented a replica of the Albert Einstein sculpture by Robert Berks, located on the grounds of the NAS Building in Washington, DC, with a personalized nameplate;
  • Invited and recognized at annual Academy events;
  • Recognized on donor recognition plaques at the historic NAS Building and Keck Center in Washington, DC, and Beckman Center in Irvine, CA; and
  • Listed in Academy publications.

The NAM Society acknowledges members and friends of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academy of Medicine whose cumulative giving is $20,000 to $99,999. In honor of their contributions, Society members are:

  • Recognized on donor recognition plaques at the historic NAS Building and Keck Center in Washington, DC, and the Beckman Center in Irvine, CA;
  • Invited and recognized at annual Academy events; and
  • Listed in Academy publications.

Annual Giving Society

The Great Hall Society is the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies’ leadership annual giving society. The support of Great Hall Society members embodies the aspirational heights of the Great Hall located in our historic 911±¬ÁÏÍø Building. With leadership-level support, the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies can enrich the industries of science, engineering, and medicine and proactively advise the most urgent and unexpected policy matters. These distinguished donors make gifts or recurring gifts with an annual total of $5,000 or more across the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies in a calendar year. 

  • Gold Level: $10,000 or more
  • Silver Level: $5,000 – $9,999

Loyalty Society

Loyal donors are the cornerstone of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies’ success, providing the sustaining means by which the Academies can carry out its mission to facilitate solutions to complex challenges by mobilizing expertise, practice, and knowledge in science, engineering, and medicine. To recognize this important commitment, the Loyalty Society of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies honors Academy members and friends who understand the impact of annual giving and have made annual gifts to the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies for 20 years or more.

Planned Giving

The Heritage Society celebrates members and friends who have planned a gift today that provides for the future. We gratefully recognize individuals who make a bequest, beneficiary designation, or another type of planned gift to the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies.

Members of the Heritage Society have provided a legacy gift that upholds the mission of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Academies. In honor of their contributions, Society members are:

 

  • Presented with a cast Heritage Society medal;
  • Invited and recognized at annual Academy events;
  • Recognized on donor recognition plaques at the historic NAS Building and Keck Center in Washington, DC, and Beckman Center in Irvine, CA; and
  • Listed in Academy publications.
